Hi. My name is Angela Foss, and I am a most unlikely blogger. Though I’ve spent most of my life in school (and even became a college/university professor around a decade ago when I was in my early thirties), I have been resistant to technology. I am still “old school.” I prefer to sit down over a cup of hot tea or coffee, look you in the eye, and hear your story while encouraging you as much as I can. I do realize now though, finally, that I need to boldly venture out from where I’m most comfortable.
God has given me a story I feel overwhelmingly compelled to share. I’ve done that most recently through publishing what is essentially the journal I kept throughout a sick season that began in my mid-thirties. I, like I imagine many people do when they become critically ill, felt as if I had much to hash out with God when my health fell completely apart. And for reasons I still don’t fully understand, I could find very little rest, even once I was well, until I decided to expose my “God talks” to any and everyone who is willing to step into my story with me.
People often say everyone has a story, and I find it hard to imagine anyone can effectively argue against such an assertion. There is indeed power in sharing stories. I simply cannot find any way to believe that we were made to keep our stories to ourselves. And that’s why I’m blogging now.
We all have our reasons for choosing to step out and share our lives with people whom we may well never even meet down here. My biggest reason is that I want to encourage as many people as I can in as many places as I can to give God a chance. And I’m not just talking about people who choose to not believe in God or to believe that one cannot really even know if God is real; I’m talking to, perhaps even principally to, people who do believe, Christ followers, of which I am one.
Thank you for joining me as I step out to share my story in a manner that is far from the comforts of my “old school” method of operation. My hope is to share weekly, so please return as often as your own story allows. I look forward to us getting to know one another.
